Sorabel X Asmara by Barli Asmara Fashion Show at Jakarta Fashion Week 2020

Hi Inspiring people,

So, I got Sorabel X Asmara Fashion Show invitation at Jakarta Fashion Week 2020 from Sorabel. Sorabel is fashion e-commerce from Indonesia with a "try first then pay" service. This unique service allowed you to try your fav clothes once it arrived. Then you can cancel it if you already tried and you don't like those clothes. Even though they sell cosmetics too, only the clothes and shoes that you can apply to the Try First service.

For their first fashion show, Sorabel works with famous Indonesian designer Barli Asmara. They created a clothing line called Asmara by Barli Asmara. Yes, when I write this article, the collection already available at Sorabel. Barli is one of famous Indonesia designer and has worked in the fashion industry for 20 years. Barli already debuts in Jakarta Fashion Week since 2008. And he has so many achievements in the fashion industry too—such a good start for Sorabel.

It's not a secret that Fashion Week in Jakarta will be behind schedule. Especially if you got the last show of the day. There are so many invitations that time, and too much booth makes the waiting venue is smaller than years before. I arrived on time lol. Then Sorabel Staff asks me to take pictures on Jakarta Fashion Week backdrop.

Finally, after 30 minutes waiting, the gate is opened—a lot of people crammed in the opening gate lol. After the staff scan our invitation, we got two goodie bags—one from Sorabel and one from Wardah (Indonesian cosmetic lane). In Sorabel goodie bag I got Sorabel X Asmara collection booklet and pashmina from Daliatex. And I got Wardah Instaperfect Spotlight Chromatic Eye Palette from Wardah goodie bag. I will write a review of this goodie bag too later.

The Fashion show started with Restu Anggraini Fashion Show, Kami Fashion Show then the last is Sorabel X Asmara Fashion Show. This three fashion show are using Daliatex textile. Daliatex is an Indonesian textile supplier, which mean this collaboration is 100% made from Indonesia. That's a plus point for them.

And the Sorabel X Asmara Fashion show started. This collection theme is feminine monochrome and this collection only uses two colours: black and white. With many tulles and lace fabric. And polka dot accent. The mood is like an early 1900 western fashion. Tulle and Lace is a hits fabric in Indonesian style lately. Barli added that hits fabric with the touch of his uniqueness makes this collection is so elegant.

He amazes me with how he choose the models. It's a breath of fresh air to see many different types of woman's body in this Fashion Show. So you can exactly know that collection look in your body. When Fendi use Paloma Elsesser as their first plus-size model, Barli uses many plus-size models, and some of them are short too. Well, there's many short and thin model. Usually, they use a tall model with a western look to be a model at the Indonesian Fashion Show.

I saw some Indonesian artist be his model. One of them is comedian Sinyorita. She's so cute and funny, makes the fashion show warm.

The show ended with standing applause from the invitations. Special thanks to Sorabel that invite me to see this fantastic Fashion Show. I hope many clothing lines will hold a fashion show with many different types of body model too. For Indonesian clothing line: Surprise me please, I know you can do more.
